Services Accountability Improvement System
Project Country: United States
Contracting Agency and Office: U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration
The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) requires grantees to comply with the Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA), which seeks to improve accountability and performance assessment. As part of the Services Accountability Improvement System contract, Danya conducted an environmental scan of the grantee knowledge, performance, and resources and provided recommendations to SAMHSA regarding the technical assistance that would benefit the grantees. To help grantees comply with GPRA requirements, Danya developed a richly integrated system of training, technical assistance, help desk services, and logistics, supplemented by online and multimedia resources, that greatly helped SAMHSA provide accountability and performance assessments, and conduct portfolio oversight.
